Residents press board for speed humps on Glenmore Road; officials propose data collection and outreach

Resident Bill Curley described recurring speeding on dead-end Glenmore Road near the Armory and asked the board to install speed humps or similar measures to force drivers to slow. "This road is a dead-end and goes straight to the Armory. Every weekend for drill it’s a racetrack for speeding," Curley said, asking the board to take stronger measures after earlier short-term enforcement.
Council members suggested collecting speed data to build a case for physical changes and offered outreach to the Armory commander; Talee Gravin suggested speed humps shaped as dips to reduce impact on plows. The board asked staff to pursue data collection and coordinate with county and state authorities where necessary.
