Resident urges town to fix sanitary sewer issues; engineer says Health Department finds system currently "fine"

Michael Carey told the board he has concerns about sanitary-system conditions affecting lots 10, 11 and 12 and said he filed a FOIL request in February 2024 and has been waiting 141 days for final answers. He described issues with a manhole and related grinder-pump infrastructure and asked the town to pursue a resolution with Rensselaer County Health Department involvement. "Fix it. Let's get this fixed, where do we go?" Carey asked the board.
Town Engineer Eric Westfall said he has paperwork on his desk, that the Health Department indicated the system is currently acceptable, and that the town is preparing easement paperwork and related steps. Joseph Styczynski urged a compiled solution and requested the town confirm county health findings; he also asked about paving Heminway and finishing exterior Annex window work. Councilman Gordon requested a commitment for a compiled solution at the next meeting.
