Board approves variance to allow 1.75-acre lot split on Walter Bartlett Road

"I'm borderline foreclosure on it," Johns said, explaining his intent to take a loss on the sale to avoid losing the entire property. He told the board the lot would use septic and that city water is nearby.
Staff read the compatibility standard in Article 10, section 10.70(e), and members compared the proposed lot size and frontage with surrounding parcels (other lots in the immediate subdivision were in the 1.5–1.7-acre range). A motion to approve the variance based on compatibility with surrounding density and the written resolution was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The chair told Johns to check in with staff about next steps.
