Supervisor Bott moved and the board approved an emergency purchase of a bucket truck for the Highway Department. Highway Superintendent Mike Martines said, "we have needed this for a while" and argued that the truck is necessary to pick up brush; he added it could assist the Utilities Department when needed.
The board also approved purchase of a radar/speed trailer and a traffic data collector. Chief Keevern said the traffic-data project had been "6 years in the making" and noted the solar-powered option will have reduced performance in September as daylight shortens; the board discussed temporary pole placement and coordination with pole owners.
