Village mayor seeks Town support for Thorne Street pool and discusses fluoride, water leakage

Kevin Adams, Mayor of the Village of Horseheads, addressed the Town Board during reports and asked the Town to view village residents as town residents when considering support for the Village’s Thorne Street pool project. He said the Village’s original ask was $500,000 on a 50/50 split and that "the Village would appreciate any amount the Town is willing to contribute."
Adams also noted the Town’s resolution requesting removal of fluoride was received by the Village Board; he invited Town members to meet with Village trustees and stated that, for now, fluoride will remain in the Village water supply. He additionally told the Board the Village's current water system leakage is about 44 percent and that the Village is pursuing grant options to address the issue.
