Pilot Rock board approves Integrated Plan to fund student supports and literacy

The Pilot Rock School Board unanimously approved the district's Integrated Plan at its April 16, 2025 meeting. Board Member Tim Weinke moved to adopt the plan; Richard Hemphill seconded and all board members present voted to approve.
Superintendent and Elementary Principal Troy Jerome presented the plan, saying the budget is built around several student-performance metrics, including the four-year high school graduation rate, five-year completion, ninth-grade on-track indicators and third-grade reading. The plan allocates funds for additional staff positions, after-school programs, summer school, early literacy initiatives, professional development and interventions intended to increase high-school success. Jerome reported elementary enrollment at 151 students (PK-6) with a 91.9 percent attendance rate.
Board discussion did not produce amendments; the motion passed with all members present voting yes. The plan now moves to implementation by district staff under the superintendent's oversight; specific staffing hires and program schedules were not specified at the meeting.
