Pilot Rock students report FFA national trip, leaders unveil Rocket Spirit award

Students and school leaders presented several extracurricular updates to the Pilot Rock School Board on Nov. 20. High School Leadership described Toys for Rockets, the new Rocket Spirit Award (winners sign a metal rocket mounted in the high school and receive a Rocket Trophy), and upcoming events including the Christmas Concert on Dec. 11 and a Key Club Lip Sync Competition scheduled for February.
FFA students reported attending the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis where they toured, attended workshops and one student performed in the National FFA Band. The trip was funded partly by student fundraising and partly by district funds; students thanked the board for the district's contribution.
