Superintendent reports enrollment figures, HVAC phase one complete; open house set for Aug. 22

Superintendent Troy Jerome reported elementary class sizes (Pre-K 11; K 15; 1st 14; 2nd 15; 3rd 19; 4th 22; 5th 22; 6th 27), 42 interdistrict transfers, an HVAC phase-one completion and an open house scheduled for Aug. 22 from 5–7 p.m.
Superintendent and Elementary Principal Troy Jerome presented the district’s administrative report at the Aug. 21 board meeting. He provided class-size counts for the elementary grades (Pre-K 11; Kindergarten 15; First Grade 14; Second Grade 15; Third Grade 19; Fourth Grade 22; Fifth Grade 22; Sixth Grade 27) and said the district has 42 interdistrict transfer students.
Jerome said elementary students will be offered band, physical education and an elective, and that teachers will use small, leveled groups for reading and math in addition to regular classroom instruction. He also reported that phase one of the HVAC plan (Building A south wing rooms) is complete and that Gordon’s Electric will begin work on phase two. The district’s open house is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 22 from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
