Coffee County committee approves new animal-control vehicle emblem and greenlights design

The Coffee County Health Welfare Recreation Committee voted May 26 to advance a new emblem and vehicle branding for animal control, approving a motion to proceed with a side-view dog emblem in an orange/reddish color.

Chair (speaker 1) opened discussion of agenda item 6b and asked Craig (speaker 5) to present proposed designs. Members compared color and layout options, noting visibility on white trucks and practical limits for embroidered badges. Committee member (speaker 3) said, “I like the 1 with red,” and others favored a design that incorporated the triple stars motif. Craig and other members stressed that a side-profile dog will embroider more cleanly than a highly detailed front-facing image.

Committee member (speaker 4) moved to proceed with the side-view dog and an orange/reddish palette; committee member (speaker 2) seconded the motion. The chair called the voice vote and recorded the motion as approved by a majority of “ayes.” The committee instructed staff to continue refining colors (including a variant described as “Tennessee orange”) and to prepare final signage and vehicle decals in time for an upcoming ribbon-cutting and shelter opening.

The committee’s action was limited to approving development of the emblem and production of signage/decals; no budget appropriation or final color selection was recorded at the meeting. The committee expects the design to be finalized at a subsequent meeting or through staff follow-up ahead of the ribbon-cutting.
