Resident asks Select Board to seek written guidance from Cannabis Control Board on growing operations

At the Feb. 13 meeting, Lynn Lawson raised concerns that a local cannabis growing operation is affecting neighbors’ quality of life, saying the smell is "infiltrating home" and that residents have experienced worsening breathing issues. Lawson said she had discussed the matter with James Pepper, Chairman of the Cannabis Control Board (CCB), and requested the board ask the CCB to provide written clarification about what authority the town has to regulate visibility, smell, and growing operations.
Brad Bender reviewed items from the CCB guidance and cited applicable statutes, and Lawson asked that the town seek a written letter from the CCB clarifying limits and options for local action. The board agreed to request clarification; no local zoning or enforcement action was recorded at the meeting.
