Department presents consolidated federal-welfare rule chapter; committee approves docket

Jared Larson, chief of staff at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, told the committee the department sought to "consolidate our federal welfare programs into a single chapter," removing material already stated in state or federal law to leave only the program-specific rules needed for administration. "We have before you a new consolidated rule chapter on federal welfare programs," Larson said as he introduced the first docket.
After Larson's presentation Representative Edmond moved to approve docket 16,030,802. With no further discussion the committee approved the docket by voice vote and the motion carried. Larson said the consolidated chapter groups multiple federal-welfare dockets so the department and committee can manage the rules more consistently.
