Water Division Manager Damien Martinez reviewed Glendora’s production systems and recent supply conditions. He described the system: about 10 wells, 29 reservoirs with roughly 35 million gallons of combined storage, 247 miles of pipe, and multiple import connections. He said the region benefited from strong rainfall in the prior rain year and that statewide storage levels improved, but that some import deliveries had been halted because quagga and golden mussel detections required regional mitigation steps.
“Delivery was soon briefly in March, but were halted again in May due to the quagga and golden mussel concerns,” Martinez said, explaining that the county and regional agencies are coordinating mitigation and testing. Staff recommended the commission receive and file the production update; the motion passed 5–0. Commissioners asked about mitigation and reservoir age; staff said county dredging and a regional mitigation plan are underway and that reservoir ages vary from the 1950s–1960s up to recent installations in 2018.
