Town Board adopts year-round no-parking law for Geiser Road

The Town of North Greenbush Town Board on Sept. 12 adopted Local Law No. 4 (2024), a prohibition on parking along Geiser Road intended to address safety concerns near the town beach. Supervisor Bott made the motion to adopt the law and Councilperson Merola seconded; all board members present voted Aye and the motion carried.
The proposal was brought to the town's attention by resident Bill Miller and reviewed by the Public Safety Committee and the police chief, who recommended the restriction. During the related public hearing Supervisor Bott said the restriction "will be all year round." A member of the public asked whether the measure created a fire lane; Supervisor Bott clarified it is strictly a no-parking law, not a fire-lane designation. The local law was recorded as Res. 2024-09-84 and implemented by board action that evening.
The board did not record any abstentions or negative votes; four members were present for the vote (Supervisor Bott, Councilpersons Sabo, Merola and Gordon). The town clerk's minutes note the resolution passed and instruct staff to publish the enacted local law and post any required signage along Geiser Road.
