During a review of USDA-revised renderings for crane and product hoist placement, port user Wilson Thompson (F/V Fantasy) said the proposed placement could interfere with vessel offloading and navigation. "Voiced concerns about crane placement and the need for room along dock for boats to offload and to navigate on the dock," the minutes record.
In response, the committee recommended holding a workshop that includes fleet members and hoist operators to consider specific placement of the cranes and hoists. Staff were directed to provide paper copies of the crane and hoist placements to fleet members in advance, including overlays of aerial images of vessels to guide the workshop.
