The Redmond School District Board reviewed results of its recent self-evaluation during the Sept. 11 work session, with an overall average score of 2.47 on a 0–4 scale. Directors identified strengths in meeting operations (Standard #6 scored 3.0) and board-staff relations (Standard #8 scored 3.0), while Standard #4 (Cultural Responsiveness and Educational Equity) scored 1.8 and Standard #11 (Board Systematic Improvement) scored 1.6.
Board comments recorded in the evaluation noted that surveys are helping communication (Standard #3 average 2.9) but that more training, team building and policy oversight remain needed. The board discussed establishing a new superintendent evaluation tool and continuing research into interventions that are working; members directed follow-up on board-development priorities but took no formal action at the Sept. 11 work session.
