At the Sept. 11 work session Vice Chair Liz Goodrich asked the board to revisit a suggestion first raised Aug. 21 that the board consider no longer endorsing proclamations. Goodrich said the board could still permit citizens to read proclamations during the public-comment portion of meetings while declining to place district endorsement on proclamations going forward.
Board members agreed to return the item to the Sept. 25 regular meeting for possible action. No formal motion or vote occurred on Sept. 11; the discussion was recorded as a continuation of the earlier Aug. 21 conversation. The item will be treated as a potential consent-or-action item at the Sept. 25 meeting so that the public will have an opportunity to comment before the board decides.
