Board adopts amended public-contracting rules, raising procurement thresholds

The Redmond School District Board voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 24:191 updating the district's public-contracting rules to conform to changes in state law enacted by the 2023 Legislature (SB 1047).
Under the amended rules the small procurement threshold was raised from $10,000 to $25,000, the intermediate procurement threshold increased from $150,000 to $250,000, and the threshold requiring formal solicitation moved from contracts over $150,000 to contracts over $250,000. Director Keri Lopez moved approval of the resolution, Director Eric Lea seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
Board materials noted the Department of Justice AG Rules were modified effective Jan. 1, 2024, to implement the statutory changes. The adoption means the district's Local Contract Review Board will use the updated thresholds for procurements going forward.
