Council approves purchase of three Ford F‑150 Lightning EVs using ODOT grant funds
Summary

City staff asked the council to approve using ODOT grant funds and an identified local match to buy Ford F‑150 Lightning electric vehicles for municipal use. "At this time, I'd like to ask council to consider approving the purchase of 2 Ford f 1 50 lightning EV vehicles," said Casey Keiser, the city's public works director and assistant city manager, noting procurement would use the state price agreement with Kendall Ford.
Council voted to approve the two-vehicle purchase at a total cost of $133,517. After staff located a third available Lightning and confirmed remaining grant and match funds, council separately authorized purchase of a third vehicle for $52,253.66. Keiser explained the city budgeted $219,000 for the project (grant funds plus match), and the city will use budgeted vehicle-replacement funds to cover the local 10.27% match. The council asked whether the grant was limited to electric vehicles; Caroline (S5) confirmed it was.
