Commission annexes two parcels into the city and locks them into conservation

The City Commission adopted multiple ordinances to annex approximately 18.18 acres (Ordinances 22, 23 and 24) and 17.5 acres (Ordinances 25, 26 and 27) located south of Page Avenue and west of Corbin Park Road into the city and to change their future land use and zoning to City Conservation with an airport-height notification attachment. Senior planner Nathan said the properties were purchased by the city as part of the Turnbull Creek Watershed Preservation Project and that restrictive covenants have been recorded to preserve the parcels in conservation.
The planning and zoning board had recommended approval by unanimous votes in April, and commissioners praised the acquisition and decision to conserve the land. Each ordinance passed on roll-call votes.
