DDA staff briefed the board on recent and upcoming work across the district. Staff said the township awarded a contract to Hillard Electric for replacement of nonfunctional streetlights in Centennial Park at an alternate bid of $74,000 and expects installation the week of July 26 to address roughly 40 malfunctioning fixtures. Staff also said design documents for Tassel Park phase 1 are being finalized and, if the schedule holds, construction could begin this fall.
The staff report included a recap of private investment (30 commercial building permits in 2025 representing just over $5.1 million in construction value) and a 2026-to-May-1 total of roughly $4.5 million in private investment (estimates based on permit valuations). Staff named several new or expanding businesses (Greenfield Premium Tobacco, Old National Bank, Jersey Mike's, iSMASH) and promoted summer events including the Cascade concert series (one June concert drew about 400 attendees) and a parks workout series.
