PDAB reconsiders Lantus SoloStar identification and approves it after second vote
Summary
After an initial failed motion, the Oregon Prescription Drug Affordability Board reconsidered Lantus SoloStar and passed identification 7-0 on a second motion; the board will include the product in its 2025 report to the Legislature.
The Oregon Prescription Drug Affordability Board first voted against identifying Lantus SoloStar (insulin glargine) during its Jan. 21, 2026 meeting; an initial motion failed 1-6. After additional discussion later in the meeting the board reconsidered and approved a second motion, moved by Lauri Hoagland and seconded by Michele Koder, which passed unanimously 7-0.
The board recorded the outcome in Table 1 of the minutes and instructed staff to include the identification and related recommendations in the 2025 drug review report due to the Oregon Legislature in March. Minutes note the board voted twice on Lantus SoloStar and that the second vote is the recorded final decision.
