Police report: over 40 citations for speeding; e-bike enforcement ongoing

Police Commander Brennan Leininger reported the department has written more than 40 citations for speeding along Belleview between Clarkson and University over recent months and is conducting enforcement of e-bikes and e-dirt bikes, including citation and impoundment when vehicles qualify as motor vehicles and operators lack license, insurance, or registration.
Communications and Outreach Coordinator Denise White said staff prepared the foundation for a public-education campaign on e-bikes and e-motos to launch within a week or two. Commander Leininger and staff indicated portable speed-enforcement signs are being deployed periodically in the Belleview corridor as part of stepped-up enforcement.
