In a block of subsequent resolutions, council authorized the city manager to purchase replacement public works equipment through State Bid pricing: a bucket truck, a compact wheel loader, a 72‑inch mower, a brush chipper, and a gator. Council members noted the purchases replace aging models (1998–2006 vehicles) with high maintenance costs and harder‑to‑source parts, and that those items were included in the 2026 approved budget. Most of the equipment resolutions passed unanimously; the compact wheel loader passed 6–1 (one member voted no and later apologized for missing that the item was already in the 2026 budget).
Council directed staff to proceed with procurement through state contracting mechanisms and to account for the purchases in the city’s capital equipment records.
