During the public comment period Adrian Panko (1650 South County Road 450 East) told the council his neighborhood was annexed into Avon within the last five to six years and was placed in agricultural zoning at that time. He said he received a notice that Pulte Homes is under contract on 131 acres adjacent to his property and asked the council to honor the town’s recent comprehensive plan, which Panko said reflected a commitment to keep that land agricultural rather than allow production housing.
Panko said the area originally had a small number of families raising livestock and that the preservation of agricultural zoning had supported that lifestyle. He urged the council — noting there has been membership turnover since the prior decision — to keep the agricultural zoning in place. Council members responded with clarifying comments about the parcel’s relationship to an extension of the park and indicated they would follow up as needed.
