The Ipswich City Council reviewed Chapters 8 and 9 of the city ordinances and approved multiple text changes. Notable edits included adding an overgrown vegetation limit for residential lots under Section 8-2-5 (not to exceed 7 inches), specifying that the Finance Officer shall be appointed at the second meeting in June each year and shall be bonded for $100,000, and requiring the financial report to be presented no later than the first meeting in May each year.
Council also struck a phrase from Section 9-2-1 referencing "within the city of Ipswich or the county surrounding the city" and set appointment timing for the City Engineer to the second meeting in June. The revisions were reviewed as part of the ordinance-review agenda item and no opposing votes were recorded in the minutes.
