Sewer cleaning, parking-lot work and chiller repair among maintenance items headed to board

District staff said annual sewer and grease-trap cleaning will start the week of Aug. 10, parking-lot repairs and striping are nearly complete and a Parkside chiller repair costing $15,759 will be on the board agenda for approval.
S1 (Staff member) told the committee Ciro's will begin sewer cleaning and grease-trap maintenance the week of Aug. 10 as part of routine preventative work: "Kitchens get their grease grease trap, drained, cleaned, and then we, cleaning of the sewers just helps with storm waters." S1 also said parking-lot grinding, patches and new asphalt across district schools have been completed and striping will be scheduled in the weeks ahead for the beginning of school.
On equipment, S1 reported the Parkside chiller has an internal leak requiring system purging and leak locating. "That cost is $15,759, and that proposal will be on the board agenda for approval," S1 said. Committee members questioned warranty status and alternatives; staff said they expect to move forward with repair to ensure the unit runs reliably for the start of the school year.
