Selectboard approves warrants, humane society contract and emergency plan; tables Act 181 and a dumping fine

The Selectboard approved payroll warrant 2642 for $5,807.94, payroll warrant 2643 for $1,834.06, and accounts payable warrant 2644 for $10,255.86; the motions passed unanimously. Emily Beer moved to sign a contract with Windham County Humane Society for $509 (an increase of $9); the motion passed unanimously.
Doug Wellman moved that the board approve and sign the Local Emergency Management Plan adoption form; the motion passed unanimously. The board tabled discussion on Act 181 and also tabled a proposal to implement a fine for dumping trash at the recycling bin. Emily Beer provided the revised Purchase Policy for signature; the board recorded no additional action on that item at this meeting.
Highway Supervisor E. Mark Bills reported road maintenance activities including scraping, pothole repairs, tree removal and improvements to Ellen Ware Road. He said he is reviewing Grants-in-Aid maps and plans to attend a Road Foreman's meeting on May 13 to discuss town financing topics.
