Treasurer Leslie Cummings told the council that the Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) is projecting roughly a 14% increase in premiums for the next fiscal year and that deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums are expected to rise by at least 100% for employees. She said she is scheduling a supervisors' meeting to develop options to present to the council.
Cummings also reported that the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) completed a cybersecurity risk assessment of the town's water, sewer and billing operations on Oct. 8, 2024. The minutes do not include assessment findings; Cummings indicated the assessment was finished and staff will review and report back. She also noted a flu shot clinic set for Oct. 11, 2024 and discussed accepting donations for hurricane victims.
