Council appoints two to DDA and receives routine board and department reports

Council appointed Colleen Froehlich and Carolyn Drier to four-year terms on the Downtown Development Authority ending in April 2029. The motion was moved by Jones, supported by Springer, and approved unanimously.
In board reports Jones (Planning) noted actions including approval of the 100 Oak Street site plan and a zoning amendment draft to prohibit shipping containers; Springer (Parks) said Timbertown needs repair and that a DNR grant proposal for Pickleball courts is in progress; Hinman (DDA) announced the Farmer's Market and an informational meeting on a proposed Social District for May 20; Faulkner (PSC) reported two new PSC members and ongoing lagoon discharge and water tower inspections. Chief Krause had no questions during his report. Treasurer Tracy Jones reported about $3,500 in interest earned over three weeks after participation with Michigan CLASS.
