Grant administrator reports FEMA reimbursements, new tree funding and retention-wall award for Basin Street
Summary
Grant Administrator Freeda Powers said the town received FEMA reimbursement for 2024 flooding (primarily Ireland Road), expects similar payments for a 2023 storm to close those FEMA events, and reported State awards for tree work and burying retaining walls tied to the Basin Street project; matching funds exist in the Capital Road Fund and the Selectboard will consider project scope in January.

Grant Administrator Freeda Powers reported the town continues work to close grants and draw down funds. Powers said the town "received FEMA reimbursement for 2024 flooding, primarily for Ireland Road," and that the town is still waiting for a State payment; she added the town expects the same set of payments for a 2023 storm, which would close out all FEMA events.
Powers also said the State announced another award for tree work to be discussed in January and that the State granted an award for burying retaining walls associated with the Basin Street project; she noted the Capital Road Fund contains matching funds and suggested the board consider whether to treat the retaining-wall work as a separate project when it returns in January.
