The Town of Bristol Selectboard on Dec. 22 unanimously authorized the Town Administrator to sign Amendment #2 to the engineering agreement for the Bristol West Water Line Replacement Project once town staff deem the documentation satisfactory. Presenter Steve Palmer (VTM) told the board the project has reached the end of the design and permitting phase and is "basically on schedule."
Selectboard member Ian Albinson moved to authorize the signature and Vice Chair Michelle Perlee seconded the motion; the motion passed unanimously. Palmer said the team is awaiting State review of bid documents and is working with State staff to secure a corrected letter of approval aimed at increasing eligibility for construction oversight engineering costs to 100 percent, a change the town hopes will reduce local outlays during construction. The board discussed a pre-bid meeting originally scheduled for Jan. 15, 2026 and agreed not to delay that meeting despite possible scheduling adjustments related to the State review.
