Council discusses non-resident refuse rates, Keno removal and Christmas event banner

Council considered a list of non-resident users of the Bennet City refuse site and discussed risks and policy options. The meeting minutes state the council will increase the non-resident refuse rate to $550 but that the change must be adopted as part of the Master Fee Schedule at a future meeting.
Members also discussed removal of Keno at the Big Ten Tavern should Waverly Keno choose to stop providing the game; the city clerk will provide the original application to the city attorney but the city would not be involved if Waverly Keno discontinues the service. During public comment Larry Kramer spoke about a banner request for the Dec. 6 Christmas in the Park event and noted Nebraska City Utilities could not put up the banner due to clearance issues.
