Council approves drainage, ditch cleaning and pauses Quincy Street surveying fee

City Engineer Brian Schuele presented a Pavers proposal for an inlet at Van Buren & Garden; the council approved the Pavers proposal by roll call. Schuele also proposed cleaning the ditch on the north side of Cottonwood at Cochrane Corner to improve drainage after a culvert installation; the council approved repair work not to exceed $13,000 with mayoral approval.
Earlier in the meeting the council removed a $2,500 Catlett Surveying fee for the Quincy Street right-of-way project from the consent agenda. The minutes state property owners need to be contacted prior to approval of the Quincy Street plan; the Catlett fee will be reconsidered after outreach. The minutes record no contract award for the Quincy project at this meeting.
