During discussion of a resident’s yard-line break, Tim McDermott said the line should have been shut down until a backflow device could be installed and raised whether the board may shut off service for unpaid assessments. Pollie Carter responded the association does not have the authority to turn water off for nonpayment. Bill Springer recommended calling the health department if a property condition affects safety.
The board did not adopt a new enforcement policy during the meeting; members agreed to rely on established procedures and to consult outside authorities when safety or code compliance is at issue.
