Butler County accepts Midwest Fence bids for Loma and David City guardrail replacement

Garcia Enterprises’ comparative bid totaled $58,478.38 for guardrail plus regrading.
For the David City location, the board accepted Midwest Fence’s guardrail replacement bid of $20,500 with county regrading (Garcia Enterprises’ total for David City was $30,000). Both awards passed by roll call.
Assistant Highway Superintendent Jim Novacek reviewed the bids and told the board he sought additional bids as requested. The board’s choices prioritize the lower-price guardrail work while keeping grading in‑house.
The board recorded no negative votes on these motions; Supervisor Coufal was absent.
