Resident asks council to prioritize parking for daily-use commercial vehicles

Victoria Freeland, who identified herself as a Verona resident, urged the council to make usage frequency a part of the new Lakeside Avenue lot's implementation. She said her household includes a commercial vehicle that cannot be parked on the street overnight and noted Lot 1 is most accessible for residents who rely on commercial vehicles every day. "As you make that decision, I hope that you consider how the lots are used," she said, recommending that Lot 3 (Lakeside) accommodate vehicles that remain parked for days while Lot 1 be prioritized for residents who depend on daily use.

Council members thanked Ms. Freeland for the suggestion and asked staff to review whether Lot 1's current restrictions reflect daytime school staff use; the mayor noted Lot 1's limited daytime availability due to school staff parking and said administration would consider whether frequency-based prioritization is feasible.
