State representative briefs council on $5 million water bonding, housing funds and local grants

He also noted a Minnesota Public Facilities Authority approval for project financing to replace Ninth Street water mains and a drinking-water loan that will assist local infrastructure work.
The representative said workforce housing was another legislative priority for Greater Minnesota, noting roughly $16,000,000 allocated for workforce housing programs that will be available this summer. He told council members the funds could support local housing projects and encouraged the city to pursue those opportunities.
Council members thanked the representative for securing the funding and for coordinating with his Senate counterparts to support regional projects. The council indicated it will follow up with staff and local partners to assess applications and next steps.
