Southeastern Montana Development says Energy Open showcased regional support and Northwestern Energy outlook

Jim Adjesen, representing Southeastern Montana Development, briefed the council on the recent Energy Open event, saying it drew congressional staff and energy-sector participants.
Adjesen told the council the event included videos of support from Sen. Gaines, Sen. Sheehy and Rep. Downing and that Northwestern Energy presented a regional market update, including discussion of the Laurel natural-gas plant. “We have all 3 congressional, staffers there with videos of support from senator Gaines, senator Sheehy, and congressman, Downing,” Adjesen said. He said organizers will circulate edited recordings and links once those are ready.
Council members thanked event organizers and noted the Energy Open was a positive opportunity to showcase Colstrip's community and energy-related assets; staff and council said they will share recordings when published and continue outreach to regional energy partners.
