The Town of Cedar Lake Council adopted ordinance 15-31 on July 21, 2026, formally reestablishing a Town Council Affairs committee. The ordinance repeals the previously adopted ordinance 15-16 and re-creates the committee described in town code.
Council members moved and seconded the measure and recorded a unanimous roll-call vote of 7 to 0 to adopt the ordinance. Council president (the chair) read the ordinance by title and said the reconstituted committee will include Mary Joan Dixon, Richard Teal and Chuck Becker as the initial membership. The council amended the agenda earlier in the meeting to allow a second reading and final adoption that night.
The council said the committee will handle internal council business and work items referred by the full council. The ordinance takes effect immediately as adopted; the council indicated it will schedule the committee's first meeting in coming weeks.
