The council approved an amendment to KLJ engineering task orders to fold additional work into the 2026 pavement project and to address stormwater drainage on Vista Drive.
Consultant Ryan explained that KLJ’s original task orders were design-only and that some streets later added to the plan are structural overlays, which increased the design effort. He described two cost items that were revised in negotiation and said combining design, bidding and construction administration could save money through consolidated bidding and a single contractor. The amount stated during the meeting for the amendment was $85,830 and council approved the amendment by voice vote.
The council and consultant also discussed Vista Drive flooding and options to capture runoff before it overtops curbs; Ryan noted the town’s usual analysis covers up to a 100-year storm and that the house at the low point may still be at risk unless the grade is changed or property is raised.
