The City Council approved a $19,296.46 change order to KLJ Engineering for the North End Waterloo project after staff explained schedule and field issues that affected costs.
Public works staff explained they were able to deduct about $18,000 from the contract because the contractor exceeded the project time frame; staff attributed overruns to difficulties boring under the railroad and to inspector supervision requirements. “We were able to deduct from the contract from COP $18,000 because they went over the time frame,” staff said. After discussion, the council voted to approve change order No. 2 by voice vote.
