Town planner: sewer project at 90% plans; alignment change will require easements

Mark Craig updated the commission on the town's sanitary sewer system design, saying the project is at about 90% completion and that staff and the design team are making changes after review.
"We got the 90% plans. We made comments on them... they're altering that design, and we're gonna have to... get easement from those owners," Craig said, describing a design change that would shift a portion of the sewer alignment away from U.S. 17 and onto town-owned property behind buildings where possible.
Craig said the design adjustments grew out of a review that included the mayor and other reviewers and that the changes are intended to reduce impacts on the U.S. 17 frontage. Once the alignment changes are finalized and easements are acquired, the project will proceed to 100% plans and be put out to bid.
