Oklahoma County approves Midwest City repaving partnership to reach residential streets

County commissioners approved a specific assistance agreement with the City of Midwest City that will fund three sections of asphalt pavement as part of an annual repaving program.
"The projects that are part of this specific agreement are 3 sections of asphalt pavement within Midwest City...this is our 1st year with that, and working with you all gives us the opportunity to hit some of these residential streets that we wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to repave," Carrie Evenson, assistant project public works director for the City of Midwest City, told the board. Evenson thanked the county and District 1 for the working relationship and invited questions on project specifics.
The commissioners moved and approved the assistance agreement by voice vote. Staff said the partnership allows the city to target residential segments outside its usual budget scope; the agreement will be administered through usual project oversight channels and will return to the board if project-specific changes are needed.
