"Their MOU went across in March... they were able to hire a housing navigator who was hired in May," staff said, and reported that the Homeless Alliance had enrolled four individuals so far and spent $7,722 to date. Staff requested a renewal payment to provide the Homeless Alliance a total of $66,666.66 for the year to continue services. The commissioners moved and approved both MOUs by voice vote.
The presenter said the Homeless Alliance had expanded housing navigation services, collaborated on a special coordinated-entry tag to identify eligible clients, and was working to recruit new landlords to increase placements. The diversion hub renewal was described as a continuation of services enabled by the previously awarded $657,145; the board approved the renewal without recorded opposition.
Next steps: staff will continue program implementation under the renewed MOUs and receive quarterly grant installments from the attorney general's office as requisitions are submitted.
