Council approved a $9,000 payment to Drake Construction LLC for demolition and pour-back repairs of two sidewalk sections near 121 & 141 Main Street; finance staff said the expense could be charged to the street department or street-and-alley budget. Larry Coxsey moved to approve and the motion passed.
Separately, Luke Armstrong requested a temporary closure of Main Street through the post office for the first annual Krebs Community Day on June 13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Police Chief Dennis Cook raised no objection and the council approved the closure. A related item to extend the lease for Tighe Automotive L.L.C. generated concerns about long-term vehicle storage on Main Street and Robert Tighe described operational challenges; the council voted to table the lease-extension item.
