Mosier council approves water system plan to enable well study and grant seeking

The Mosier City Council on Feb. 3 approved a City Engineer proposal for the Mosier Water System Plan so the city can move forward with a New Well Analysis and seek implementation grants. City Manager Kathy Fitzpatrick told the council the New Well Analysis estimate from engineering firm GSI "came in higher than expected," but she described it as an essential component of the overall plan.
Councilor Bill Akin moved to approve the Water System Plan as proposed by John Grim, City Engineer; Councilor Peny Wallace seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The council record notes the approval will allow the city to pursue outside grant funding once the study is complete, a step Fitzpatrick identified as necessary to implement longer-term improvements to the municipal water system.
