At its Oct. 21 meeting the Mosier City Council discussed design concepts for a wayfinding sign on ODOT property intended to be playful and interactive. Council members considered using a round post with swiveling signs, chalkboard paint for visitor messages, and sculptural styling resembling Arthur Higgins’ work. Council President Emily Reed emphasized the sign should prominently say 'Mosier.'
Douglas Hawksworth said the sign could create what he called a 'You are Here moment' that encourages people to pause and notice their surroundings; council members discussed placing a second post at Rock Creek. No formal vote was taken; design and placement were discussed as part of beautification and placemaking efforts.
