Selectboard reschedules Oct. 1 meeting amid Yom Kippur concern; will revisit date
Summary
The board moved its Oct. 1 meeting to Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m. after a proposal citing the town's non-working holidays resolution. A resident pointed out Yom Kippur observance runs sunset-to-sunset, and the board agreed to revisit the date at a future meeting.

Aileen Tulloch raised that Yom Kippur falls on Oct. 1 under the town's non-working holidays resolution and proposed rescheduling the Selectboard meeting. Town Manager Karen Astley suggested holding the meeting on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.; the board’s motion to move the meeting to Oct. 2 passed after a second by Peg Alden.
Resident Howard Fairman told the board that because Yom Kippur is observed from sunset to sunset, Oct. 2 could still fall within the holiday period; the Selectboard recorded his concern and agreed to revisit the meeting date on a future agenda. The minutes note that Tuesday, Sept. 30 conflicts with a Planning Commission zoning bylaws community meeting.
