Highway crew reports maintenance work; town to repair 2018 Western Star for $13,110.32

Town Manager Karen Astley reported the Highway Department has completed flagging certification for all crew members and annual safety training for sand and gravel pits. Work through the summer included culvert replacements, ditching projects and mowing; fall grading is underway and the crew is working on the Grants-and-Aid project on Putney Mountain Road.
Astley said the 2018 Western Star dump truck requires $13,110.32 in repairs and that the vehicle is not due for trade until FY27; the manager will authorize repair so the truck is available for winter. The crew also completed a Parkman Wood Road box culvert; the town will request state final inspection and reimbursement when the inspection is complete.
