Town Manager Karen Astley summarized the Fire and EMS activity for Aug. 8–Sept. 15, 2025, reporting 15 EMS calls, three automatic fire-alarm responses, two good-intent calls, three public assists and one mutual-aid response to Dummerston for a brush fire. She told the board the department conducted combined training with the Dummerston Fire Department and UMASS Life Flight on helicopter landing and victim removal.
Astley also said four members committed to Firefighter I training that began Sept. 9 and will continue through March, and staff are reviewing recommendations from the AP Triton report as part of capital-plan work and next year’s budget planning. The attachment to the minutes documents maintenance work on all fire pumps and repairs to three municipal hydrants, which are back in service.
